This is unreal!!! I never expected this at all, but am so greatful. The first thought that came to me when I found out I was in the 4th stage of lymphoma cancer was my family...how will this affect them, especially my two amazing daughters who mean EVERYTHING to me! All of you amazing people have helped more than you know! I can't even express how blessed I feel to know that I have all these people who care! I pray that God blesses you all big time! Thank you so much, Marcus
Marcus and his family got the shock of their lives when they found out late last year he was battling cancer.
Since they found out, he has been through 3 chemotherapy treatments. He has a mass on his lower spinal area that he had an emergency laminectomy on, which saved him from paralysis. The cancer did hit the bone marrow so the md informed us that if the chemo does not treat well he would need a bone marrow transplant.
Last week Marcus was cleared to start his radiation. Marcus also has a tumor that formed very close to the main artery of his heart. Surgery to this tumor is impossible because it is so close to the artery, so our fingers are crossed that the radiation will treat both his mass & tumor.
His 3rd chemo was not easy, but being the strong man Marcus is, both mentally and physically, he has endured it with optimism. He is hanging in there, and keeping that beautiful smile on his face - waking up each morning and saying "I'm here - Thank GOD!!"
Marcus is a family man, with 2 beautiful little girls and a loving supportive wife by his side. They are all fighting this battle with him.
Let's show the Kamelamela family how all of Hawaii has their back! Please donate what you can to the fund to help offset the cost of Marcus being out of work and mounting medical bills. Every little bit will make a difference, and take one less worry off their minds.
Thanks so much for supporting this wonderful family by taking the time to come to the page. Marcus has friends near and far, and we wanted to give everyone a chance to show their support. For those near - PLEASE purchase a ticket ($20 in advance/$25 at door) to attend the Marcus Kamelamela Benefit Bash. Details below:
