‘A Miracle for Marinda’
John 13:34 “…Love one another”.
Luke 12:24 “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also”.

Sunday afternoon, October 4, Marinda and Gunnar had just finished lunch with family in Wauwatosa, a small town outside of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As they were crossing the street to head back to their vehicle, Marinda told Gunnar she wasn’t feeling well. At that point, Gunnar looked at Marinda and realized that she was having a stroke as the corner of her mouth drooped. The call to ‘911’ was made immediately and an ambulance was there in minutes. The hospital was only five minutes down the road. Marinda was in the ER in less than 15 minutes from the time she realized something was wrong.

Marinda suffered an AVM which is a small rupture of capillaries on the right side of her brain. The pool of blood that resulted caused the stroke due to pressure on her brain. Marinda has fought back and after a week in ICU is making wonderful progress.

Her loving husband, Gunnar, has been vigilant throughout this challenge. Her family and many friends have been there for her and for Gunnar with so many prayers and with so much love and concern. Their faith in their Lord Jesus has been a joy and reassurance to their families. Now, it will be a long road of recovery and rehab for Marinda. In the short term, Marinda won’t be able to work at her teaching job at Garden Home Lutheran School. Gunnar will need to adjust his schedule, too, as he attends to Marinda and likely reduces his work hours while finishing up his senior year at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary.

To help out Marinda and Gunnar, a “helping hand” fund has been set-up simply to assist them with their day-to-day expenses, including rent, utilities, food, tuition, and future medical expenses.

Please help them if you can with a donation, if you are able. If not, we would ask that you continue to pray for Marinda’s healing and for God’s help in giving both of them patience and strength as they work toward getting Marinda healthy again. We all have so many challenges in life and we appreciate that fact. Again, if you can help with a small donation, whether it be a gift card, gas card, or financial contribution please donate here or send your financial gift to:
