Nicole Angela Gomez, only the tender age of 19, was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic adenocarcinoma cancer in September of 2012. In the midst of waiting to set up a treatment for the cancer, the cancer spread to her liver and she suffered with liver failure and kidney failure as well. She took her last breath and peacefully transitioned at 9:30 am on October 30, 2012. She has fought very hard for the past month and she always had a positive attitude about getting through the cancer. We have been preparing for the worst, but unfortunately we are facing some discrepancy with our insurance policy. We are stricken with her passing so soon and we now have to find the finances to fund the expenses of a funeral and burial.
Nicole was born in Queens, New York on May 19, 1993. She was raised in Long Branch, NJ. She graduated from Long Branch High School June of 2011. She was a member of the Long Branch Spirit of the Green Wave marching band, the Westwood Players Ensemble, math club, and National Honor Society during her time at Long Branch High School. She was currently a sophomore at Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ. She was a member of the Rider EOF program. She was double majoring in elementary education and communications, specifically focusing on graphic design. Nicole was a member of Unity Fellowship Church New Brunswick where she served as a youth and young adult leader. On October 6, 2007, she was awarded the "Shining Star Award" at Holy Convocation in Los Angles, CA in recognition of the bright light that shines within you to guide and inspire those often forgotten. She was an amazing youth and young adult leader for the Unity Fellowship Church Movement.
Many have asked how they may be of help and lieu of flowers and food, but due to the discrepancy with the insurance policy, we asking for monetary contributions which will have the most impact at this time.
The Gomez family is asking for help! We're trying to raise money to help with the funeral expenses for Nicole due to an issue with her life insurance policy & New Hope Foundation. Whatever you can give would help out greatly as we work to fix this issue! The Gomez family thanks you in advance!
