On January 16, 2015, Landon's family found out that the six-year-old was most likely suffering from leukemia. Shortly after the first physician raised this possibility, the young boy was conclusively diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
At the age of 39, Hawaii resident and successful DJ Christa Wittmier was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma. This diagnosis brought with it the need for expensive medical treatment, and the chemotherapy makes it impossible for Christa to work. This prompted a family member to create a fundraising campaign to help Christa deal with the financial burden of seeking aggressive treatment for the disease.
During Master Sergeant Saunders' career, he earned 13 medals. Unfortunately, this decorated Marine lost his life while training Infantry Marines. According to NBC12, the Master Sergeant was killed during a helicopter accident, and he is survived by his wife and young son.
Jim Gray passed away in 2010 from cancer, and his family decided that they wanted to do something in his honor to help celebrate the vibrant life that he lived- Read more about his story here.
