Impact Summary from the Nonprofit Working with donors from all over the state, ARCF granted approximately $9.6 million in FY12 to worthy charitable causes in Arkansas.   In number of grants, ARCF is Arkansas's largest grantmaker. Many of our grants are recommended by the families, nonprofit organizations and corporations that establish endowments at ARCF. Additionally, nonprofits, hospitals, schools and government agencies can apply for competitive grants at the statewide and local level through ARCF�s Giving Tree Program, which was designed to allow the foundation to respond quickly to emerging needs in the community. In FY12, ARCF awarded over $695,000 in grants from our central office and local offices through the Giving Tree program. Arkansas Community Foundation continues to develop our network of 27 local offices, which brings together the best thinking of local leadership to meet community needs and opportunities. Every community, no matter its economic status, has assets upon which to build. ARCF and its local offices are intent on developing those unique resources to create a future for our communities that is as strong and productive as our citizens.   In FY12, ARCF continued its work with Aspire Arkansas, a major research initiative gathering county-by-county data on seven community indicators. The report helps people throughout Arkansas take a look at how each county is faring on important quality of life issues.  Using data from the Aspire report, each of Arkansas Community Foundation�s 27 local offices have created a focus on working to improve important issues specific to individual communities across the state.    More than 425 volunteers across the state serve on ARCF advisory boards across the state.
