The mission of Shoes That Fit is to provide new shoes to children in need so they can attend school in comfort and with dignity, better prepared to learn and play. We pair sponsoring groups (businesses, churches, civic organizations, etc.) with schools that have children in need. With materials we provide, school staff identifies and measures the students most in need of new shoes and the sponsor then purchases the exact item each child needs.
Shoes That Fit helps provide new shoes to children in need for school. Over 1 million pairs of new shoes have been provided to underprivileged children through our programs throughout the U.S. New shoes allow children to attend school in comfort and with dignity, better prepared to learn and play, builds their self-esteem & helps them fit in with their peers and focus on school rather than on their circumstances. We believe that every child deserves shoes that fit. Our studies have shown that children participating in the Shoes That Fit program have better attendance, improved behavior, and participate more than they did prior to being a part of Shoes That Fit. The simple gift of a new pair of shoes can make a profound difference in the life of a child, allowing them to leave behind whatever problems they have at home with the knowledge that someone noticed their need and cared enough to make a difference.
