Founded in 1968, La Jolla Music Society (LJMS) has become one of Southern California’s leading presenters and producers of world-class performing arts. As a multi-disciplinary presenter of classical music, jazz, and dance our mission is “to enhance the vitality and deepen the cultural life of San Diego by presenting and producing a dynamic range of performing arts for our increasingly diverse community.” To help fulfill our mission, our Board of Directors have created a strategic plan that identifies and addresses the over-arching artistic, financial, patron, and operational objectives over the next five years through our 45th Anniversary Season in 2013-14.
LJMS brings into local communities world-class classical music, modern dance, jazz and ballet in multiple venues throughout the county. These performances are of artists who regularly appear at Carnegie Hall, Royal Festival Hall in London, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, and indeed on the great stages of the world.
