BREATHE LA has a number of new initiatives underway benefiting people and their families adversely affected by chronic lung diseases, such as our incoming adult lung health program in Boyle Heights ongoing Better Breathers Clubs(TM) for individuals coping with COPD and caretakers. O24u youth environmental education continues to increase visibility as an innovative and effective approach to impact lung health to more than 50,000 children since 2005, and now features new programmatic enhancements underway for wellness and strong community partnerships. We have concluded a major research partnership with USC this past year involving the development of new youth asthma education curriculum. On the policy level, we have been successful to advance regional Green Building policies aligned with LA County MTA and our BREATHE California coalition is leading statewide legislation to strengthen the Clean Air Act.
