The mission of PRIDE Industries Foundation is to expand employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
PRIDE Industries Foundation supports sustainable career opportunities for people with disabilities through PRIDE Industries. We achieve this by funding programs and services that provide: Employment Preparation & Placement, Job Creation, and Employment Supports for people with disabilities. During the past year, PRIDE Industries Foundation directed our donor’s dollars to expand employment opportunities for more than 300 individuals with disabilities by supporting targeted services to meet individual needs. Just a few examples of our impact: • Provide technical skills training to 85 PRIDE employees with disabilities, by funding the purchase of tools and training devices for PRIDE’s technical skills training programs in New Jersey, California, Texas, and Louisiana. • Make employment accessible by providing transportation to and from work at PRIDE for 22 people with disabilities in Louisiana and 10 people with disabilities in Hawaii who have no other means of getting to PRIDE’s job site. • Open the doors to new employment opportunities for 2 PRIDE employees with limited mobility by providing them with Tobii PCEye devices – some pretty incredible technology that allows people to control a computer using only their eyes. • Prepare 150 people with disabilities in Northern California – including at-risk youth and veterans – for employment success by funding employment preparation and placement services. These services include help with resumes, interview preparation, paid work experience internships, job placement assistance, and job coaching. • Allow 10 people who use wheelchairs at PRIDE’s Adult Day program to participate in community activities by supporting wheelchair-accessible transportation. These community activities – which include trips to the grocery store, library, park, and more – help the people with disabilities we serve get to know their community while improving their independent living skills. • Help an individual with a disability recover from Hurricane Sandy by purchasing replacements for tools lost in the storm • Open the doors to new employment opportunities by providing people with visual, hearing, and developmental disabilities with assistive devices • Create 12 new jobs for people with disabilities providing landscaping services in Northern California by purchasing needed equipment • Help individuals with disabilities improve their independent living skills by installing a training kitchen and laundry room in North Sacramento
