It is imperative that agricultural leaders build and maintain close ties across commodities to benefit the entire agricultural industry. 3. Global economies are becoming more dependent and interconnected. The California agricultural industry plays a significant role in international trade. Its leaders must become familiar with the needs of our trading partners. The significance of these challenges demands leaders with an understanding of the view points of people from diverse segments of our society and from different cultures around the world, leaders who can communicate, and leaders who can have a positive influence on our future. The California Agricultural Leadership Program is designed to further develop leadership capabilities in men and women from the agricultural sector who have demonstrated leadership potential.
