Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley believes no senior should go hungry, so we deliver meals to the homes of people who cant shop or cook for themselves. Our nutritious meals, delivered throughout the Salinas Valley by caring volunteers, improve the health and well-being of people who are homebound, elderly, or disabled and help them remain in their homes and maintain their independence.
To assure that homebound seniors and disabled adults have enough food to eat daily, at least 450 people who cant shop or cook for themselves will receive nutritious meals delivered to their homes by Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley each year. The home-delivered meals will meet their most basic need for food, improving their health and well-being, and helping them remain in their homes and maintain their independence. About 105,000 meals will be delivered annually. Approximately 90% of the people served will be seniors 60 and older and 10% will be non-seniors who are disabled.
