To enrich the lives of San Diegans by renovating 26 historic buildings at the former Naval Training Center to create, facilitate and operate a broad-based complex focused on experiencing the arts, culture and creativity that are the hallmark of the San Diego region.
Accomplishments in the past year: -Grew from 25 resident groups to 40+ resident groups -Opened our 7th building and first Barracks building -More than 250,000 people attended an event, rehearsal, class, meeting, festival or exhibit -Completed the predevelopment design work on 15 remaining buildings Goals for the current year: -Launch Phase II: Seek the most creative arts and cultural professionals and organizations to make their home in the North Promenade barracks, which we will restore by the end of 2011 -Finalize Luce Auditoriums designs, present for historic review and to the community so we can secure funds to create performance and cinema venues at NTC Promenade -Expand community events, including free open studios at Friday Night Liberty -Expand the Liberty School Program to serve additional at risk youth
