The mission of Promises2Kids is to break the cycle of child abuse.
Since its formation 30 years ago, Promises2Kids has provided services to over 166,000 children and has distributed nearly $21 million for the care and protection of abused and neglected children. In addition to Promises2Kids history of successfully raising funds for services that break the cycle of child abuse, is its accomplishment of being recognized as a leader that addresses the evolving needs of current and former foster youth in San Diego. Promises2Kids annually provides over 6,000 youth in San Diego County with the tools and guidance they need to address the circumstances that brought them into foster care, overcome the difficulties of their past, and grow into healthy, happy and successful adults. This year, Promises2Kids Board of Directors and staff have strategically analyzed its programs and activities in order to determine which ones are most critical toward accomplishing its mission to break the cycle of child abuse. The consensus from these discussions has resulted in Promises2Kids focusing more of its resources this year on the Guardian Scholars program, Camp Connect program, and the five programs that it funds at the Polinsky Childrens Center. Promises2Kids will concentrate on these programs, in addition to its community drives and the activities supported by the Rivers of Hope Foundation.
