The mission of Reality Changers is to provide inner-city youth from disadvantaged backgrounds with the resources to become first-generation college students by supplying academic support, financial assistance and leadership training.   However, there are currently 150 students on Reality Changers waiting list who are looking for an opportunity to get off the streets and get into Reality Changers. For prospective members, gangs don't have waiting lists... why should Reality Changers?

2011-2012 ACCOMPLISHMENTS ·         Reality Changers� Founder & President, Christopher Yanov, visited former President of Mexico, Vicente Fox, in Guanajuato, Mx to share Reality Changers philosophies and strategies to create Reality Changers-like programs in Mexico to help that country�s low-income youth ·         Reality Changers� Class of 2012 earned over $10,000,000 in scholarships from all sources ·         99% of students in the Class of 2012 will attend a 4-year university (91%) or a 2-year college (9%) this upcoming fall of 2012. ·         5 students in the Class of 2012 were Gates Millennium Scholars recipients   ·         Since the program�s inceptions, Reality Changers students have earned $25,000,000 in scholarships from all sources ·         Reality Changers awarded $500,000 in scholarships to low-income students across San Diego County ·          Since the program�s inception, Reality Changers has awarded over $3,000,000 in scholarships to low-income students across San Diego County.   LONG-TERM GOALS At Reality Changers, we're committed to expanding our programs locally and sharing our strategies globally.  To do so, we have three long-term goals: First, expanding our social enterprise will strengthen our ability to prepare more inner-city students for college.  Just as the Princeton Review offers guidance sessions for the SAT exam, CollegeAppsAcademy.com helps students seeking guidance for the college application process.  The Academy is up to 80% tax deductible and open to ALL high school students.  Better yet, through Reality Changers' exclusive partnership with UC San Diego Extension, students receive college-prep credit upon completion of the course!   Second, securing a long-term facility will accommodate the program's exponential growth.  We now produce nearly as many graduates on an annual basis than we did during our first ten years combined!  Hundreds of low-income youth want to get off the streets and into our college-readiness programs... where will we put these students as the demand for our services continue to grow?   Third, knowing that our program's greatest strength is the students themselves, we strive to have at least 50% of our employees be Reality Changers graduates.  These young adults possess incomparable organizational knowledge, unsurpassed expertise on becoming first generation college students, and undeniable proof that Reality Changers produces community-minded leaders ready to change the world.
