Collect, preserve and display documents, photographs and artifacts relevant to Chinese and Chinese American history and culture and to provide ongoing educational programs to share this rich cultural heritage with our communities.

Accomplishments  Named the Best Museum in San Diego in an online poll by the Mojo Awards and KFMB-TV in August 2010. Number of K-12 students involved in education programs and number of different schools served both reached all-time highs in 2010-2011 with 2311 students from 27 different schools. Acquired a new property and began process of renovating into a new Archive and Learning Center to include state-of-the-art classroom space and conservation facilities. Museum staff reorganized the permanent collection to create thematic displays and provide additional interpretive information.   Goals  Raise $600,000 to complete renovation of the Archive and Learning Center. Present at least two original exhibits and continue to promote the museum as a venue for local and visiting scholars to present work on topics related to the museum�s mission.    Continue the steady growth of the education program by continuing to reach out to more schools and community organizations through direct mail, social media, and participation in community events. Continue building the endowment fund toward one million dollars in order to pay a future executive director and ensure the museum�s continued financial stability. Collaborate with local media and fellow neighborhood and community organizations to promote historical preservation and the development of the Asian Pacific Historic District as a venue for the arts and destination for cultural tourism.
