Orange County Community Housing Corporation celebrated 33 years of service to extremely low-income families in 2010 fulfilling its mission �to transition extremely low-income families towards greater self-sufficiency by assisting them with housing and education.�  Your generous support of OCCHC/SteppingUP allowed the program to expand its services to extremely low-income families throughout Orange County breaking the cycle of poverty through affordable housing and education.   OCCHC/SteppingUP�s work as named Trustee for the ETHIC Housing Trust continued strategizing on the production of 166 affordable housing units in the Great Park planning area of the City of Irvine.  Created in 2005, the ETHIC Housing Trust is a collaboration with The Salvation Army, Riverside Charitable, American Riding Club for the Handicapped, Second Baptist Church Homeless Coalition and OCCHC/SteppingUsite identification, site planning and design involvement.   In 2010, SteppingUP�s Family Mentoring component assisted 31 families (137 individuals) in transitioning from homeless shelters to our safe and affordable housing while expanding service to 1,429 individuals throughout Orange County and assisting 4 of our families in becoming first-time homeowners.  The program�s focus on educating at-risk youth through college awareness and financial literacy with SteppingUP�s College Awareness Program (CAP), led to great achievements in serving 141 at-risk students with 87 parents AND our largest graduating class of 13 seniors now enrolled into college!  We are pleased to share the following success as a result of your support.
