Their Mission Statement

The Dyslexia Awarenss and Resource Center educates, advocates, supports and raises the awareness of the community, especially low income/at risk children and their families about Dyslexia, Attention Deficit Disorder and other Learning Disabilities.

Summary of Impact

Children can not read or write they will never be able to productively function in todays society. A child who suffers from a lack of functional literacy caused by their undiagnosed learning and attention disabilities will be lost. DARC believes that a mind is a terrible thing to waste. Given the needs that this project addresses, we believe that the programs and  strategies that the Center utilizes will help to create a world where every child can be given the tools and accommodations to successfully read and write which will assist them in becoming successful and productive members of their society. our
