To restore and protect the joy of youth through educational programs and positive actions in collaboration with families, schools, communities, and government entities.
Impact Summary from the Nonprofit PROGRAMS The Standard Response Protocol (SRP) This a crisis response template for classrooms, schools, law enforcement, and local communities. The SRP is comprised of training materials, presenters’ workbook, handouts, and signage. All materials associated with training and implementing the SRP are available free to public K-12 schools. The solution we provide is a standard, consistent response in all incidents. • Over 500 Colorado schools are using the SRP in the 2010 school year, reaching over 245,000 Colorado students. • The SRP is being used in schools in New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Maine, Virginia, New Jersey and Iowa. Texas, Idaho and Wisconsin are on the horizon. • This reaches an additional 200,000 students. As we work with New York City Public Schools, an estimated 1.1 million students will be served. • Since April, 2009 to November, 2010, The Foundation made over 70 presentations in 40 cities, 10 states, addressing over 12,000 school safety stakeholders. 2011 GOALS: To reach more schools around the country. To revise the SRP for higher education campuses, and also K-2nd Grade. The Sexting Conversation The Foundation has initiated a Sexting awareness campaign. “The Sexting Conversation” campaign encourages presenters and parents to talk to kids and teens about the permanence of electronic messages and photos, and the many legal and emotional ramifications. The Foundation provides materials free of charge to schools, districts, departments and agencies. "Regretting is Harder Than Telling" The Foundation works with the Jefferson County School District and Safe2Tell on the “Regretting is Harder than Telling” campaign. In conjunction with these partners, The Foundation has produced videos to engage students in discussion. MANAGEMENT GOALS To fill all the seats on the Board of Directors and the Advisory Board with people who possess a broad variety of skills. To seek stable enough funding to enable us to hire one or two staff members.
