The mission of Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is to work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for homeless and at-risk families, children and individuals throughout Colorado. CCH advocates for, and provides a continuum of, housing and a variety of services to improve the health, well being and stability of those it serves.
Impact Summary from the Nonprofit 2010 Accomplishments: Our Stout Street Clinic provided integrated health, mental health and supportive services to over 12,000 people in 2010 with over 130,000 patient visits, including case management. Our Family Support Services Transitional Housing program served over 200 families living in five Coalition rental communities and in scattered sites in 2010. 95% of households with a disabled family member remained housed after two years. Our Renaissance Childrens Center is a child care center licensed for up to 95 children, ages 6 weeks to 12 years. The Center serves a mixture of homeless children in transitional housing, low-income children on public assistance, as well as children whose parents who can afford to pay for the program. The Childrens Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and has earned our fifth 4 Star Qualistar rating, placing the Childrens Center in the top 3% of Colorado child care centers. In 2010, we opened Pizza Fusion, a gourmet and specialty pizza restaurant in our Renaissance Uptown Lofts complex near downtown Denver. Other than the manager, the restaurant is entirely staffed by 23 participants in our Renaissance Works employment program. Our two Housing First programs serve 150 chronically homeless individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance treatment disorders. In 2010, 93% of participants maintained their housing for one year. Our statewide Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-housing Program helped 1,400 households from losing their housing by assisting with rent and/or mortgage payments and rehoused more than 800 households with deposit and first months rent. In 2010, the Coalition managed over 40 separate housing programs which provided over 800 housing vouchers to families and individuals experiencing homelessness. These vouchers and our 1,400 affordable rental units provided 2,200 households with housing without which they would be homeless.
