Their Mission Statement

Mountain Valley Horse Rescue is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of abused and neglected horses.  We are committed to reducing the number of cases involving horse abuse through communtity outreach and education programs.

Summary of Impact

Impact Summary from the Nonprofit Mountain Valley Horse Rescue strives to address the enormous issue of unwanted horses, both in the state of Colorado and nationwide.  In 2011, we took in 18 horses, successfully rehabilitating and placing 13 of them into adoptive homes.  With a new facility, and expansion planned for 2012, we hope to extend that reach to include as many as 30 horses in 2012.  We also are developing our First Annual Rescue Rendezvous to be held in Eagle on April 14-15, 2012.  This event will be a weekend of bringing the community together around the issue of unwanted horses.  Education, networking and demonstrations will help to raise awareness of the issue, and allow concerned citizens, volunteers and professionals to collaborate on solutions to the problem.
