Manatee Glens specializes in mental health and addictions so that health and wellness are possible for every family.

Impact Summary from the Nonprofit Recent Accomplishments: Manatee Glens' Call Center takes 99,200 inquiries a year from local residents seeking information, referral and treatment for emotional or alcohol and drug concerns. Manatee Glens' Walk-In Center welcomes more than 7,100 patients a year who can meet with a counselor to discuss their concerns without any appointment or insurance required. Manatee Glens provides alcohol and drug prevention services to more than 5,000 Manatee County students a year. Manatee Glens provides child abuse and neglect services to more than 700 families a year, participating in over 100 adoptions annually. Manatee Glens is a teaching and research institution providing training to more than 200 medical students, nurses, psychologists, and counselors annually and participates in clincial trials with Florida Clinical Research Center. The American Osteopathic Association has approved the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM)/Manatee Glens Hospital Psychiatry Residency program, the fist private, non-profit psychiatric hospital to have its own medical residency program. It is one of only seven such Osteopathic programs in the country. the first residents will begin in the summer of 2014 and will stay four years. Current Goals: Expand Access to Care. Only one out of three adults and one out of four children who need access to mental health treatment actually receive it. Place patients and loved ones at the center of care. Manatee Glens carries hope for our clients until they are well enough to carry it for themselves. Implement solutions of Community Concerns. It is our calling to support our community as we have with solutions to problems such as homelessness, rape, child abuse and neglect, diversion from the criminal justice system, and failure to succeed in school. Maintain $16 million in annual charity care. Our Board maintains this level of service to our community despite the economic turndown, funding reductions, increased uninsured, and the prescription pain pill epidemic.
