The Epilepsy Association of Central Florida, Inc. (EACF) is dedicated to improving the quality of life of persons affected by epilepsy/seizure disorders.  EACF identifies, defines, and advocates the needs of persons with epilepsy, as well as planning and implementing strategies to meet those needs.

Impact Summary from the Nonprofit A Charting Impact Report consists of an organization�s responses to the five questions. Helping validate this self-reported data are three reviews. Once an organization has used the online interface to complete its report, its responses will produce a document with a unique URL that will be shared on this website, on your GuideStar profile, on the reports of charities participating in BBB Wise Giving Alliance evaluations, and � in the future � with other websites and information sources about nonprofits. We encourage organizations to use this URL to share their report on their own website and through their own media channels. Participants will receive guidance about promoting their Charting Impact Report, along with other benefits, once they publish their report. EACF partners with; area physicians, laboratories, diagnostic centers, hospitals and more, either free or at deep discounts, in order for us to serve our clients with those services and more, for less than $700 per year per client.  According to Florida�s Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) one hospital admission can be over $27,000 with an average emergency room visit costing over $2,000. EACF keeps or returns hundreds of individuals with epilepsy in school or the workforce by giving them somewhere to come for understanding, diagnosis, medical care, seizure control, case management, comprehensive epilepsy education, and much more. These are just a few ways EACF impacts our community.   Some of our goals were realized already.  EACF was donated a building saving us over $4,500 a month that would have gone to rent that will now go toward direct services.  We have also been given our own EEG machine and two ambulatory EEG units in order to have our own EEG diagnostic laboratory saving us thousands of dollars a year and allowing us to serve more people with more tests.   Our goal for 2013 is to find innovative ways to provide high quality services at lower costs and meet the increasing demand from persons needing our services while reducing our waiting lists for those wanting to get into the program.
