THE HAWAIIAN SAILING CANOE ASSOCIATION IS ORGANIZED TO PROMOTE HAWAIIAN CANOE SAILING BY 1) REVIVING INTEREST AND EDUCATING PEOPLE IN THE ANCIENT SKILL AND TRADITIONS OF HAWAIIAN CANOE SAILING; 2) ESTABLISHING CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS BASED ON TRADITIONAL PARAMETERS; AND 3) PROMOTING SANCTIONING AND GOVERNING OF THE BUILDING, SAILING, AND RACING OF HAWAIIAN SAILING CANOES. SAILING EVENTS ARE HELD THROUGHOUT THE YEAR WITHIN THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS, WITH UP TO 25 SAILING CANOES PARTICIPATING.
