The Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth's mission is "to eliminate homelessness among Nevada�s youth" and to allow all homeless youth in the state to share the same opportunities for a quality future enjoyed by others in our community. We provide direct & emergency assistance for homeless & runaway youth. Food, job placement, family re-unification (if appropriate), rental fees, work cards, GED testing, shelter placements, food vouchers, bus passes, and case management are just a number of the services we provide. We are the only youth service provider in Nevada with a continuum of care extending from street outreach and 24-hour crisis intervention services to a full-time drop-in center and an independent living program .

Impact Summary from the Nonprofit As a result of the efforts of a dedicated and vibrant Board of Directors, administrative staff, and program coordinators NPHY has achieved a great deal since gaining nonprofit status in 2001. The Partnership has: Identified gaps in services for the homeless youth in our communities Opened Nevada�s first full service Drop-In Center for runaway and homeless youth Coordinated efforts for street outreach Brought the National Safe Place Program to southern Nevada Created a 16-bed, scattered site transitional housing program for homeless youth who work or attend school full-time NPHY is also credited with the creation of the "Right to Shelter Law" (NRS 432B.220), State of Nevada legislation which allows local shelters to provide necessary services to runaway and homeless youth, including food, access to overnight shelter, counseling to address emotional crisis or problems, outreach services to locate and assist youth, screening for basic health care needs, and referrals to public and private health care agencies. Before this law homeless shelters in Nevada would not serve minors without parental consent. In 2005, NPHY also spearheaded the first study to enumerate the homeless youth population residing in Southern Nevada and coordinated the first �Homeless Youth Day� during the Nevada legislative session.
