In 1986, several members of the American Irish Legislators Society of the NYS chartered the IAHM to gather information on the Heritage of The Irish in America and present it in Exhibit and program form to Educate the 45 million that claim Irish ancestry and the general public at large. Since then we have refurbished an 1850 Victorian farmhouse which now serves as our exhibit Museum, assembled a 1500 volume research library and opened a modern office in Albany, NY. From there we develop programs, research topics and respond to a growing number of snail and email inquiries.
