The objectives of Congregation Shomray Hadath, shall be to establish and maintain a synagogue and such religious, educational, social and recreational activities as will help further the cause and objectives of the synagogue and traditional Judaism.
First, Congregation Shomray Hadath is dedicated to perpetuating Jewish values, instilling pride in Jewish heritage. We are committed to Tzedakah by collecting funds and disbursing them locally and regionally. In Judaism, tzedakah refers to the religious obligation to perform charity. Secondly we offer on line Misheberach requests. One of the central Jewish prayers for those who are ill or recovering from illness or accidents is the Misheberach. The prayer takes its name from the first two words: “mi" and "sheberach” meaning, “the One who blessed.” Traditionally, the Misheberach is said in synagogue when the Torah is read. If the one who is ill cannot attend services a relative or friend will mention the person’s name to the one leading services and they will offer the Misheberach prayer.
