Cincinnati Public Radio will produce, acquire and distribute programming that meets the highest standards of public service in journalism and cultural expression to create a vibrant community with a more informed and enriched public. In order to carry out this mission on WGUC, we shall: 1.    Introduce fine classical music to the largest possible audience while bringing a new generation of listeners into the WGUC family. 2.    Produce programming to satisfy every listener's level of classical music appreciation. 3.    Provide listeners with current information on community arts activities and broadcasts of local classical music performances. 4.    Generate the funding needed to execute this mission not only on a year-to-year basis, but also well into the future.  In order to carry out this mission on WVXU and WMUB, we shall: 1.    Produce news, information and entertainment programming for an audience that is engaged, curious and socially conscious. 2.    Provide listeners with high quality news, information about important local issues, current information on community activities, and broadcasts of important local public affairs significance. 3.    Generate the funding needed to execute this mission not only on a year-to-year basis, but also well into the future.

Impact Summary from the Nonprofit Cincinnati Public Radio, Inc. is the broadcast license holder for 90.9 WGUC and 91.7 WVXU, serving the Greater Cincinnati community with the finest in classical music, news, information, and entertainment programming. 90.9 WGUC broadcasts classical music 24 hours a day. WGUC was the first public radio station in Ohio to broadcast a digital HD RadioTM signal and became one of the first stations in the nation to receive FCC authorization to experiment with FM multicasting. The station now offers two digital channels: classical music on WGUC HD 1 and fulltime jazz programming on WGUC HD 2.   In addition, WGUC broadcasts many local musical events including the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra concerts, The Cincinnati May Festival and Cincinnati Opera seasons.  The station also currently produces and distributes The 90 Second Naturalist and Classics for Kids® nationally.  91.7 WVXU became a part of Cincinnati Public Radio on August 22, 2005. The station broadcasts news and information programming from its team of award-winning journalists, as well as national and international sources including National Public Radio, American Public Media, Public Radio International and the BBC. The schedule also includes jazz, swing and blues programs. WVXU also broadcasts a digital HD RadioTM signal, providing its high quality news and information programming on WVXU HD1 and programming from PRX Remix on WVXU HD 2.  On March 1, 2009, Cincinnati Public Radio entered into a Local Management Agreement with Miami University to operate 88.5 WMUB, preserving public radio service for the Miami Valley.
