The Coalition on Homelessness and Housing in Ohio (COHHIO) is a coalition of organizations and individuals committed to ending homelessness and to promoting decent, safe, fair, affordable housing for all, with a focus on assisting low-income people and those with special needs.

Impact Summary from the Nonprofit COHHIO supports a range of housing assistance services in Ohio, including homeless prevention, emergency shelters, transitional housing and permanent affordable housing with linkages to supportive services as needed. COHHIO assists hundreds of housing organizations and homeless service providers in Ohio through public policy advocacy, training and technical assistance, research and public education. It is this unique and comprehensive infrastructure that enables COHHIO to respond to both longstanding and emerging needs of our state�s most vulnerable populations. Our seven programs areas feed our knowledge base. Our HMIS program collects homeless data; training and technical assistance builds organizational capacity; SSI Ohio helps disabled, homeless Ohioans successfully navigate the daunting application procedure; tenant outreach helps stabilize rental households; OhioVOTES helps build civic engagement among the people served by nonprofits; youth empowerment builds leadership skills with at-risk youth; and advocacy takes the voice of the underrepresented to the state legislature.
