The Furniture Bank of Central Ohio provides free furniture to families and individuals struggling financially to furnish their own homes due to poverty and other severe life challenges.  We help fulfill the basic human need for shelter, by "turning empty houses into homes." FBCO is by far the largest furniture bank in central Ohio. It supports nearly 50 social service agencies that refer clients on an ongoing basis (weekly) by providing furniture and household items to their clients.  Nearly 100 clients are given 13-15 pieces of free furniture every week.

Impact Summary from the Nonprofit A Charting Impact Report consists of an organization�s responses to the five questions. Helping validate this self-reported data are three reviews. Once an organization has used the online interface to complete its report, its responses will produce a document with a unique URL that will be shared on this website, on your GuideStar profile, on the reports of charities participating in BBB Wise Giving Alliance evaluations, and � in the future � with other websites and information sources about nonprofits. We encourage organizations to use this URL to share their report on their own website and through their own media channels. Participants will receive guidance about promoting their Charting Impact Report, along with other benefits, once they publish their report. The Furniture Bank helps families and individuals move their lives forward by "turning their empty houses into homes."  A furnished home facilitates a more nurturing family unit, enables wages earners to rest properly after a hard day's work, and enables children to rest properly while in school and gives them a more effective study environment. In 2012, the Furniture Bank provided 13-15 pieces of furniture to each of 4,123 families. We distributed 56,320 pieces of furniture, including 6,850 wooden furniture items (kitchen tables, dressers, and twin bed frames) assembled by volunteers.
