We provide over 500 translations and interpretations each year for clients, organizations and businesses. Our Volunteer English Tutoring project serves 60+ students and 41 tutors, Citizenship classes serve 50+ and our after-school Spanish Literacy project serving 70 elementary students, involving 15 parents as their teachers at three different schools. We operate a Volunteer Program to create cross-cultural awareness, community service opportunities, and increase our capacity to serve others by providing hands-on training for 150-175 volunteers while benefiting from their skills and knowledge to further our mission. The monetary equivalent of their 4,000 hours is about $80,000 each year. Our Cultural Enrichment Program includes ongoing cultural/language exchange opportunities and our annual Festival of Cultures event, which includes an official Naturalization Oath Ceremony. We have built a strong base of support through our AMIGOS of LCA membership program, established in April 2011, which as of 3/30/13, includes 445 members (74% clients). We are also building our capacity to continue providing cultural awareness and competency training, translation services, cultural consulting, and expanded workforce development services. In 2013, we are working to establish our Latino Family Empowerment Center to begin providing a continuum of integrated services under one roof.
