OBT's mission is to enrich the quality of life in Oregon and SW Washington by: --Performing a diverse repertoire of exciting classical and neoclassical ballets; --Inspiring and cultivating a lasting appreciation for dance and the arts through outreach and education programs for children and adults; --Providing exceptional ballet education through the School of Oregon Ballet Theatre; --Serving as a valued and committed community member.

Impact Summary from the Nonprofit Oregon Ballet Theatre (OBT), Oregon�s largest full-time professional ballet company, offers the highest quality ballet to the people of Oregon and Southwest Washington.  Over the past 5 years OBT has presented over 235 performances, added 50 ballets to our repertoire including 18 world premieres, and brought in 17 guest choreographers to create ballets for our dancers. Over the 2009-2010 season, OBT impacted nearly 70,000 audience members through programming and the Dance United gala performance. This includes Oregonians from all walks of life - from low-income school students attending at $2 a ticket, to a loyal base of returning subscribers. Our primary base is the tri-county metro area (Multnomah, Clackamas and Washington) but our audiences and donors span many states and regions. Tickets prices start at $17, in an effort to keep productions affordable for our community. Our free public programming, including outdoor concerts and festivals, reached 15,000 people.  We offer 11 free or low-cost education and outreach programs, which reached over 27,000 people of all ages, including nearly 9,000 schoolchildren, during the 2009-2010 season. Many of our programs are specifically targeted to at-risk and low-income youth. Our School of Oregon Ballet Theatre (SOBT) trains young performing artists, impacting 233 students in the School of OBT and 250 in the School�s Summer Intensive last year.   Within the last 5 years 27 SOBT students have gone on to professional careers or well-known dance programs and universities. Our Summer Intensive Program draws students from 30 states and 8 countries. We have a dedicated base of 50+ volunteers who assist at productions, events and in the office. Overall, we reached 112,000+ members of the community last year.
