Their Mission Statement

Our Mission Statement, as adopted by the Board of Directors is:   To promote, encourage, and foster the Arts in Butler County.    Our Vision is to: 1. Serve our local artists by providing them opportunities to share their talent and experience with others, to display and sell their work at professionally organized art exhibits offered free to the public, and to offer the opportunity to participate in high quality art classes and workshops; 2. Help the youth of Butler County develop their creativity, self esteem and self-confidence by introducing them to the Arts through creative, affordable learning experiences in a comfortable, inspiring, and safe environment; 3. Contribute to the well-being of our community by becoming a downtown Butler attraction and drawing visitors and community members to Main Street; and 4. Collaborate with other non-profit organizations working toward the betterment of the Butler County community in order to advance each organization’s goals in an economically sustainable manner.

Summary of Impact

Impact Summary from the Nonprofit Our top achievements in the past year include: 1. Hosted ten major, month-long art exhibits and many minor exhibits offered free to the public. 2. Expanded and revitalized our art education program, including after school art classes and workshops for all age groups. 3. Completed a major community service project, the “Visual Art Stimulation Project” at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (the former Sunnyview Rest Home, a county-operated non-profit organization), where we literally “filled the walls” of the Memory Care Unit with great art to benefit the residents suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of dementia. 4. Renovated our ceramics classroom/kiln area, as well as creating new gallery space in the “Underground Galleries” area. 5. Improved our visibility in the community by creating a new website that receives over 50,000 hits per month from almost 1,000 unique visitors, creating a broadcast email system that reaches out to approximately 800 subscribers (including individual artists, organizations, and media outlets), and publishing a 173 page book A Pictorial History of The Associated Artists of Butler County celebrating our 75th anniversary as an organization.   Our top goals for this year include:   1. Continue building our visibility in the community by using all forms of media on a regular basis to promote interest in upcoming art events, art education programs, and  musical performances benefiting our youth, the AABC and/or other non-profits serving our community; 2. Expand the range of art education experiences available at The Art Center and making after-school programs more affordable; 3. Continue and expand our Underground Gallery musical and arts performances program, giving Butler’s youth an opportunity to hone their craft in a safe and inspiring environment; 4. Continue a long-range donation drive with the goal of securing an endowment for subsidizing the hiring of qualified, well-respected individuals who can bring consistency and professionalism to the following positions:  - Executive Director, charged with directing the overall financial management of The Art Center, securing available grants, and providing general oversight of The Art Center operations;  - Art Education Director, charged with promoting and coordinating all art education programs and activities, expanding our offerings of adult workshops/classes and affordable after-school programs to provide over 10,000 student-hours per year.
