About This Cause

RONALD EDWARD TIPPE
August 20, 1950 – August 1, 2014
“You could not ask for a more blessed life than I’ve had.”

UPDATE 8/12/2014
After a long and valiant fight, our dear friend, Ron, passed away quietly in his home with his family by his side. He is survived and deeply missed by his wife, Molly Maginnis, children Annie and Sam, and his mother Sylvia along with an unquantifiable number of people who were lucky to call him family, teacher, colleague, co-conspirator, mentor, and friend.

In December 2012, Ron had extensive brain surgery to remove a large malignant tumor called a glioblastoma, which was discovered in the temporal lobe of his brain. A month later, the tumor had grown back and was removed again. With the love and care from family and friends along with radiation and chemo, Ron was able to do the things he loved the most – visit with friends, host dinner parties, long walks with pugs Lucky and Lulu and be with his family. But just as important, Ron continued to share his creative passion with the world. He continued to teach and mentor, write and develop ideas for projects he wanted to produce and direct, and there is no doubt he would have accomplished these goals, had he been given more time.

This page (Ron’s Tippe Jar) was set up by the Friends and Loved Ones of Ron Tippe to help offset some of the exorbitant costs of Ron’s care. While your incredible generosity directly helped to make Ron’s last year and a half more comfortable (and the family is beyond grateful for your donations and all of the cards, letters, posts, and calls of encouragement and love), the family’s finances are devastated and there are still sizable residual bills – hospital visits, ambulance, hospice – that need to be paid.
To that end, we are extending this fundraiser to help the family get back on their feet, give them some time and space to grieve and then rebuild their lives as individuals and as a family unit.
Anything you can give (or give again) is deeply appreciated.
You can use this site to donate or if you prefer, checks can be mailed directly to:
