About This Cause

Bandit's Story:
The neighbors behind my grandmother's house bought a pit bull puppy in the spring. They named him Bandit. As he grew, they lost interest in him.

He has been chained to a tree for over two months. He constantly winds his rope around the tree to where he can barely move. Sadly, he is often stuck in the heat, without water (such as the case in the photo above), and is desperate for love and interaction.

I've spoken with the owners a number of times and offered to help walk him or spend time with him - I was turned down. In conversation they said they bought him for $600 and are willing to sell for $300. They mentioned Bandit is registered, has papers, and that they paid a stud fee. However, they are not actively looking for a home for him but are willing to sell if the opportunity arises. They are a low-income family and want the money - until then Bandit will sit outside, neglected.

Every day that I see him, I see his sweet puppy spirit dying. He has taken to digging in the dirt and playing with his tail - he needs socialization before it is too late.

If enough people were to donate small amounts of money, we could raise the $300 to buy him. For example, if 30 people gave $10 we could change this pup's life. Any amount will help!

Brian and I have been in contact with local rescues and are in the process of finding him a home or rescue to go to. We have gotten some great feedback from some great people out there that work on behalf of pit bulls.

Many people have asked why I don't steal him.
#1 my grandmother is fairly well-aquainted with these folks, our yards share the fence. They are our neighbors.
#2 This is a neighborhood that lends itself to crime at times. These folks keep an eye out and I have already expressed concern over the dog.
#3 I feel we can do more by buying him and raising money because I think it is possible.

If we save Bandit, we stop this unnecessary suffering. We can also keep this dog from becoming aggressive by intervening now while he is still playful and young. I have interacted with Bandit and he is still sweet at this moment in time.

If you can help please donate! I can keep you posted with what is going on and, just think, you can write it off on your taxes!

Please help Bandit escape! You do not have to have a Paypal account to donate. However, if you would like to send a check or money order, please contact me through my personal email or Facebook for my address. There is also a Contact Me link at the bottom of this page.

Many Thanks, Elisabeth
Note: Any monies raised beyond $300 will go with Bandit to the rescue/foster home and will be used towards neutering/food/upkeep.
I will keep everyone updated.
(If you happen to be interested in fostering or adopting this pup, please email me as well!)
